Course Overview:
This free course is designed to support writers as they develop, draft, and revise their stories or poems to enter in the Inklings Book Contest.
Objective:
Writers will generate a winning idea, build writing skills as they draft, revise and polish their piece, and feel confident about their contest submission.
Length and Adaptation:
Students will either focus on a story or poem, and will generally take 2-6 weeks to work through this material. We also have a version of this course for educators to use in their classrooms. The educator version has supporting material to guide teachers as they plan lessons.
Cost and Access:
This course is free with (free) Teachable registration. Students under 16 must register under a parent name and email.
Access history includes: Students and educators who engaged in past Inklings Book Contests. This material also once was shared as a series of Facebook Live videos. Each year, we tend to revise and refresh the material for repeat students.
Feel free to share this full course with your mentees to work through on their own, or on a video by video basis, as it is helpful to their mentorship. If you work on videos together, either assign them as homework and then talk them through in your session, or watch them and play through the material together.
